Jessica Proskin

Assistant Director of Student Programs and Advising

Jessica Proskin (she/her) joined the CCEL staff in July 2019 and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Programs and Advising. She oversees the Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP) where she advises students pursuing community-engaged learning pathways, and supports campus-community partnerships grounded in reciprocity and ethical collaboration. Jessica earned her BA in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, where she was deeply involved in community engagement as a student, completing both an AmeriCorps term and the Community Engagement Scholars Program. She later earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of St. Thomas.

Jessica is also a doctoral student in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota, within the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development. Her research focuses on community partner perspectives on the impact of short‑term Alternative Spring Break (ASB) student volunteers on an organization’s mission and capacity. She is committed to elevating community voice in community-engaged learning and strengthening institutional practices that support more equitable partnerships.

Outside of work and school, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, hiking, and playing with dogs.
