HECUA Application Process

Before you begin, talk with your advisor about how HECUA will fit into your academic program.

Create a student profile on the HECUA website. Once you create a student profile, you will be emailed your password. Please check your spam folder if you don’t receive an email immediately.

The following steps may be completed in any order:

  • Complete the online application: information about you and your academics, emergency contacts, short answer questions (your off campus approval person is David Holliday)
  • Upload an unofficial transcript to the HECUA website
  • Pay HECUA's $25 application fee (even if you don't have a paypal account, you should still be able to continue and use a debit or credit card)
  • Schedule an off-campus approval appointment with David Holliday at the Center for Community-Engaged Learning. As a UMN-Twin Cities student, you DO NOT need to use the off-campus study contact form linked on the HECUA website.

Attend an Apply-a-thon!

Complete your HECUA application in one sitting while enjoying pizza. Student advisors will be available to answer questions about the application process, credits, and program details. You can also complete your off-campus approval without making an appointment.
