HECUA (Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs) offers off-campus programs for students to do integrative itellectual, political, and artistic work in support of movements for social justice, peace, and environmental sustainability in the U.S. and abroad. HECUA classrooms immerse you in the issues that matter, from income inequality to racial justice, environmental sustainability to media access. Credit-earning internships at local nonprofits cement knowledge and expand networks.

COVID-19 Changes to HECUA

Program Structure:
HECUA’s Spring 2021 programs (including internships) will be delivered online. Some field experiences and internship work may take place in-person if possible, by following Health and Safety protocols. Program structure is subject to change based on considerations for the health and safety of our students, HECUA faculty/staff, and community partners. HECUA's Summer Race in America Progam will by offered as a hybrid course. HECUA hopes to offer in person programs in Fall 2021, but that is yet to be determined due to pandemic considerations.
